Calculate Your Winnings
Singles
Fraction Method - Multiply the stake by the fraction odds to
give the winnings, then add the original stake to give your total
returns,
e.g. £10 @ 7/2
10 x 7/2 = 35 + 10 (stake) = £45 total returns.
Decimal Method - Simply multiply your stake by the decimal
figure to give the total returns,
e.g. £10 @ 4.50
10 x 4.50 = £45 total return including stake returned.
Multiples
When calculating multiples, returns from your first selection go
onto the second selection as the stake. Further returns are
similarly reinvested onto further selections.
E.g. £10 winning treble.
Tottenham to beat Arsenal @ 6/4 ( Decimal 2.5 )
Best Mate @ 7/2 ( Decimal 4.5 )
Tiger Woods to win Masters @ 2/1 ( Decimal 3.0 )
Fractional Calculation
(£10 x 6/4) + £10 (stake) = £25.00
(£25 x 7/2) + £25 (stake) = £112.50
(£112.50 x 2/1) + £112.50 (stake) = £337.50
total return
Decimal Method - multiples are easier to calculate with decimal
odds:
£10 x 2.5 x 4.5 x 3 = £337.50 (including stake
returned)
Each-Way bets
Each-way bets are two bets, win and place, and are settled as
two bets. The place part is calculated at a fraction of the win
odds. This fraction will vary by sport and event, and will always
be displayed when each-way betting is available.
Each-way 1/5th odds 1,2,3
£10 each-way on Hawk Wing @ 20/1
If Hawk Wing wins the race, the win part of the bet is
calculated to the full odds (£10 x 20/1) + £10 (stake)
= £210 return. The place part is calculated to 1/5th of the
full odds, (£10 x 20/5) + £10 (stake) = £50.
These two totals are then added together to give a total return of
£260.
If Hawk Wing was only placed, the win part of the bet would have
lost and the place part only would have been paid = £50
return.
Each-Way multiples
Each-way multiples (doubles, trebles, etc) are settled as two
standard multiples, a win multiple and a place multiple, returns
from each are added to give the total return.
e.g. £10 each-way double
10/1 winner (each-way 1/5th odds a place 1,2,3)
16/1 winner (each-way 1/4th odds a place 1,2,3)
Calculated as two doubles, a win double, and a place double.
Win Part (£10 x 10/1) + £ 10(stake) = £
110
(£110 x 16/1) + £110(stake) = £1870 return
Place Part (£10 x 10/5) + £10(stake) = £
30
(£30 x 16/4) + £10(stake) = £150 return
Giving a total return of £1870 + £150 =
£2020.00
Forecast / Tricast
Forecast and tricast dividends are declared from the racecourse
after the race. They are both generated by a computer based on
starting prices. Dividends are quoted to a £1 stake
(inclusive of stake returned) multiply your stake by this dividend
to calculate your returns.
